Our Suppliers

Mr. Chompy may look like a complete goof-ball (which he is), but he takes product sourcing very seriously. He demands traceability because he only wants to support other businesses who care deeply about working standards and environmental stewardship.
Here are the prerequisites for us to use an ingredient:
- Ethical treatment of employees
- Fair wages
- Good working conditions
- If we don't work directly with the farmer, we source from co-operatives that are Fair Trade certified.
- Quality and freshness
- Ingredients are sourced locally as possible because once nuts are shelled, they start oxidizing and losing their freshness.
- We have tasted dozens upon dozens of different varieties from different farms and farm co-operatives in this region to find the suppliers we work with.
- All of the nuts we use have been cold-stored after harvesting. Most of them are shipped to us vacuum-sealed and nitrogen flushed to preserve their freshness. Once we receive them, we cold store them until use.
- Sustainable farming practices
- Almost all of the ingredients we use are organic. Most of the nuts are also regeneratively grown. The local, raw honey we use is one of the few products that are not certified organic. We choose to use it because we think the beekeeper runs a environmentally and socially responsible business and we love the taste of their honey.
